Silly skunks, what's so wrong with maraschino cherries? You never said. Did they make you sick or something?
While in Vancouver in January I made myself a delightful pie in my hotel room. It included a full jar of maraschino cherries, and I polished it off in less than an hour. I felt fine (but full) after.
